Where is Keswick?

Keswick is a beautiful town on Derwentwater in the Northern Lake District

But isn't as far away as you might think...

By Car

From the South, for a scenic route through the Lake District, you can leave the M6 at J36 and take the A591 via Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. After dark a better choice is to leave at J40 and take the A66.

From Manchester you can get here in two hours, from London you'd with us in five hours.

By Train

The nearest railway station to Keswick is Penrith, served by Virgin Trains. The station is 17 miles from Keswick, but a bus service, taking forty minutes, connects Penrith railway station with Keswick Bus Station. Taxis from Keswick will meet trains at Penrith by prior arrangement.

Average journey times on the train:

London - 3 1/2 hours
Birmingham - 2 hours 40 minutes
Glasgow - 2 hours 35 minutes
Manchester - 1 hour 45 minutes
Preston - 55 minutes

By Bus

If you are already in the North West of England why not take the Lakeslink 555 (Lancaster to Carlisle via Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside, Keswick)

By Plane

The nearest international airports to Keswick are Newcastle (93 miles), Blackpool (97 miles) and Manchester (124 miles). Further afield are Birmingham and London Gatwick and London Heathrow.

And you will love it when you get here...
